31 October 2026 – Friday Night The most vivid dream I’ve ever had. It all took place at home in Farnbeg. I was in my bedroom (as it is now), and my deceased Granny was there. I was explaining everything to her about magic mushrooms, the benefits, etc. I knew she would be sceptical, but she actually liked the idea. She had a nervous problem all of her life. Although I was speaking with my grandmother, I could never actually see her. She always seemed to be behind a wall or in the next room. I believe this to be symbolic of the fact that she was dead, while everyone else in the dream was alive. I knew that when I first started talking with her, I was in my bedroom in the house. She died in this very bedroom. Then I went next door to the kitchen in the main house where I grew up (I now live in an apartment adjoining the main house). The kitchen had become a classroom, and my friend Bernadette was sitting next to me. It was all so clear. We were chatting for a bit, and the class was actually about magic mushrooms. I remember the teacher explaining them and the diagrams on the wall. Bernadette pulled out the mushrooms we had picked in Carrowkeel and gave me one. I took it, and she said, “You’re crazy! For your first time to take the full thing!” As soon as I took it, I looked out the window, and everything was turning blue/green. I whispered to Bernadette what I’d done. She told the teacher and the others what I had done and said that I would be okay. I told her I would be “up the back” and walked out. When I went “up the back”, which was where we used to go and play as children, there was a big party. The place was exactly as it is today, a big yard with a few outbuildings and sheds. I also had my 18th birthday party in one of these sheds, and the party in the dream was exactly like that. Everyone was there, including my brother and one of my best friends. I remember greeting everyone and having a great time. I remember looking in my bedroom window from outside during the dream and seeing everything exactly as it is today. It was incredibly vivid and clear: the curtains, the bedsheets, the wrinkles on the duvet where I sometimes lie and read, and the PlayStation controller. Everything was exactly as it is in real life. I noticed a red-haired girl in the shed where the music and food were. I could see her dancing and having a great time so clearly. I knew her to be my girlfriend in the dream. Because I was aware that I was dreaming, I asked a man at the party, who was about the same age as me, to find out her nationality. He went into the shed and came back out to me and said, “Dutch.” I knew she did not look like Pia, and I was frantic and disappointed. The man remained by my side, and we continued talking throughout the dream. Then Bernadette arrived, and I explained to her how everything was so beautiful and that I was in my subconscious mind. She was so happy for me. I told her that I knew now why some people get afraid, as they have not done the work. We both agreed. At some point, the man beside me told me that the Dutch girl was “getting a new man in shining armour.” I was like, “What???” I thought she was my girlfriend. As I turned around, a handsome man entered the gate to the yard. I had never seen this man in my life. I was confused by this, as I had believed the Dutch girl was my girlfriend. I then asked the man beside me, “Is there any Pia Fels in the class?” He said yes. I asked, “Who is she with?” My heart was in my mouth. He was like, “Oh, oh em, she is with…” He paused for a long enough time, and I thought he was going to say someone else. But then he said, “You,” with a smile. I followed him around the yard a bit and asked, “Are you sure?” He said, “Yes, she is marrying you.” I said to him, “I didn’t like you, but now I do!” We both laughed, as he had been telling me about the other man with the Dutch girl and everything else. At the end, I turned around and could see the Dutch girl sitting on a bench made from two barrels and a piece of wood, beside her new man. I could see the couple just sitting on the bench, staring back at me. The dream then ended.
Your dream is rich with symbols and layers of meaning, reflecting various aspects of your subconscious mind and emotional experiences. Here's a detailed interpretation:
Deceased Grandmother and Magic Mushrooms: Your grandmother's presence in the dream represents wisdom, guidance, and perhaps unresolved feelings about her passing. Although you can't see her, you're aware of her presence, which may symbolize the enduring influence of loved ones who have passed away. Discussing magic mushrooms with her could be a metaphor for exploring new ideas, healing, or seeking knowledge that you believe could have helped her during her life, especially regarding her nervous problem. Her surprising openness in the dream might indicate your wish for understanding or reconciliation.
Classroom and Teacher: The transformation of your familiar kitchen into a classroom suggests learning and self-discovery. The classroom setting indicates that you're in a period of gaining knowledge and insight, possibly about aspects of life or yourself that you've not fully explored.
Magic Mushrooms and Transformation: Consuming the magic mushroom might symbolize a willingness to embrace new experiences or altered states of consciousness. The changing colors (blue/green) outside the window could represent a shift in perception or a metaphor for seeing the world in a different light.
Party and Nostalgia: Returning to a familiar setting from your childhood to find a party evokes feelings of nostalgia, celebration, and possibly a longing for simpler times or reconnecting with your inner child. It may also signify joy and togetherness, as you are surrounded by loved ones and friends.
Girlfriend and Confusion about Identity: The presence of the red-haired Dutch girl suggests an exploration of identity and relationships. Your confusion and disappointment about her identity could indicate uncertainties or insecurities about real-life relationships or expectations. The stranger informing you about her "new man" and introducing another figure could reflect fears of abandonment or changes in personal connections.
Lucid Dreaming and Subconscious Awareness: Recognizing that you are dreaming and discussing it with your friend Bernadette indicates a high level of self-awareness and control within the dream. This might mean you are actively engaged in self-improvement, introspection, or spiritual exploration in waking life.
Pia and Happily Ever After: The confirmation that Pia, who represents your real or ideal partner, is with you, provides a sense of relief and joy, symbolizing validation of your current relationship or desire for a harmonious partnership. This could reflect your confidence and contentment in your romantic life.
The Man's Dual Role: The man who imparted various news serves as a symbol of guidance or intuition, helping you navigate through different emotional states in the dream. His role as both a bearer of unsettling news and a provider of reassuring information reflects the complexities of your own intuition guiding your feelings in life.
Overall, this dream appears to encapsulate themes of exploration, self-discovery, nostalgia, and relationship dynamics. It suggests that you're processing past experiences, confronting present emotions, and are open to personal growth and new experiences. The vividness and lucidity indicate a heightened state of awareness and connection with your deeper self.
